Artistic representation for Paws to the Polls aims to boost early voting turnout address pet surge post hurricanes

The program aims to promote voter registration and encourage people to participate in the elections.

The “Paws to the Polls” Initiative

The “Paws to the Polls” initiative is a unique collaboration between Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections and four local animal rescue organizations.

The Partnership

The Supervisor of Elections Office has partnered with several animal rescue organizations to help find homes for pets in need. These organizations include the Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control, the Humane Society of Palm Beach County, and the SPCA of Palm Beach County. The partnership is designed to promote the adoption of pets from shelters and rescue groups, rather than buying from pet stores or breeders. Key partners involved in the program: + Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control + Humane Society of Palm Beach County + SPCA of Palm Beach County

How the Program Works

The program is designed to make the voting experience more enjoyable for voters while also addressing the surge in pets needing homes. Here’s how it works:

  • Voters can visit the Supervisor of Elections Office website to view available pets for adoption. Voters can also visit the Supervisor of Elections Office in person to view available pets for adoption. Voters can fill out an adoption application and submit it to the Supervisor of Elections Office. The Supervisor of Elections Office will review the application and match the voter with a suitable pet. Once a match is made, the voter will be contacted to arrange a meet-and-greet with the pet. ## Benefits of the Program*
  • Benefits of the Program

The program has several benefits for both voters and the pets. Some of the benefits include:

  • Increased adoption rates: By promoting the adoption of pets from shelters and rescue groups, the program aims to reduce the number of pets in shelters and increase the number of pets in loving homes.
