The little grey kitten was found by a kind-hearted woman, who took her in and cared for her, and has since become a symbol of resilience and hope.

Evergreen’s Story: A Tale of Survival and Resilience

Evergreen’s journey began on a fateful day in December, when she was just a tiny kitten. She had wandered away from her mother and siblings, seeking shelter in a nearby tree. Unbeknownst to her, a group of coyotes had been lurking in the area, waiting to strike. As the sun began to set, the coyotes attacked, killing Evergreen’s mother and siblings. The little kitten was left alone, injured, and frightened.

The Kindness of Strangers

Days turned into weeks, and Evergreen’s chances of survival seemed slim. However, fate had other plans.

Dr. Siler and her team were able to rescue the kittens and provide them with medical care and food. Evergreen was the last kitten to be rescued, and she was found in a small, hidden area of the lot. She was only 3 weeks old and weighed only 3 ounces. Evergreen was taken to the Helen Woodward Animal Center for further care and rehabilitation.

A New Life for Evergreen

After being rescued, Evergreen was taken to the Helen Woodward Animal Center, where she received medical attention and care. The center’s medical team, led by Dr. Alexis Siler, provided Evergreen with the necessary treatment to help her recover from her ordeal. The kittens were also provided with food, shelter, and love, which helped them to grow and thrive.

“It’s a reminder that even in the toughest of times, there’s always hope.”

The Power of Storytelling

Evergreen’s incredible journey has captured the hearts of millions worldwide, and its story has become a testament to the transformative power of storytelling. From its humble beginnings as a small, abandoned puppy to its current status as a beloved therapy dog, Evergreen’s tale is a powerful reminder of the impact that stories can have on our lives.

The Early Days

Evergreen’s journey began in 2013, when a small, abandoned puppy was found wandering the streets of Los Angeles. The puppy, later named Evergreen, was taken in by a local animal shelter and began its journey to becoming a therapy dog. Evergreen’s early days were marked by struggles and challenges, including a bout of pneumonia and a series of failed adoptions.

A New Chapter for Evergreen

Evergreen, the adorable kitten, has been living with a loving foster family for some time now. During her stay, she has grown to love and appreciate the family’s pet dog, a gentle giant named Max.

The Center’s mission is to provide a safe haven for animals in need, and to promote the welfare of animals and people in the community.

The History of Helen Woodward Animal Center

Helen Woodward Animal Center was founded by Helen Woodward, a philanthropist and animal lover, in 1972. Woodward was inspired by her own experiences with animals and her desire to create a safe haven for those in need. The Center’s early years were marked by a small group of dedicated volunteers and a modest facility. However, Woodward’s vision and perseverance paved the way for the Center’s growth and success.

Early Years and Expansion

  • The Center’s first facility was a small house on Woodward’s property, which was converted into a shelter for stray animals. In the early years, the Center relied on donations and volunteer efforts to care for the animals.
