    Adoption Process

Adopting a cat from Fat Cats is a straightforward process that involves several steps. Here’s an overview of what you can expect:

  • Initial Application: When you arrive at Fat Cats, you’ll need to fill out an adoption application. This will ask for basic information about yourself, your home, and your experience with cats. Meet and Greet: After submitting your application, you’ll be given a meet and greet session with one of our knowledgeable staff members. This is an opportunity for you to ask questions and get a sense of the cat’s personality.

“She’s the backbone of the organization.”

The Unsung Heroes of Cat Rescue

The unsung heroes of cat rescue are often the individuals who dedicate their time, resources, and energy to caring for cats in need. While many people may think of cat rescue as a glamorous or exciting endeavor, the reality is that it requires a tremendous amount of hard work, dedication, and compassion. In this article, we will explore the world of cat rescue and highlight the incredible work being done by individuals like Julia, who is making a real difference in the lives of cats.

    The Importance of Foster Care

Foster care is a critical component of cat rescue. It allows cats to receive the care and attention they need while they wait for their forever homes. Without foster care, many cats would be forced to spend their lives in shelters, where they may be subjected to overcrowding, noise, and stress. By providing a safe and nurturing environment, foster caregivers like Julia can help cats feel more relaxed and confident, making them more adoptable.

So far, I’m not sure how I’ll manage this on my own and I’m getting a little overwhelmed. Julia is the one who’s been taking care of me, and I’m starting to feel a bit resentful. I don’t know if I can do it on my own, and I was hoping to get some advice from Julia, but I’ve been ignoring her messages and not responding to her calls. I’m feeling overwhelmed by the responsibilities of being a cat parent, and I realize I need to seek help and learn more about cat care. I’m also aware that I need to reevaluate my expectations and prioritize my own needs as a college student.

Fat Cats partners with Chewy for food and supplies and the Flower Mound location of Hollywood Feed, which hosts monthly adoption events.
