However, it is precisely this kind of dedication that has inspired Dr. Jaime Smith to become the Medical Director for the new Oktibbeha County Humane Society Spay and Neuter Clinic.

Additionally, Oktibbeha County Humane Society is able to offer affordable spaying and neutering services partly through a Banfield Foundation grant.

The Animal Support Center, which includes the VanLandingham Kennel Facility, will serve as a dedicated spay and neuter clinic, as well as a transportation hub for shelter animals in the region. Andrea Spain, the Small Mercies Animal Rescue director, emphasizes the significance of this center in the community.

“**This is the building that’s going to make the huge difference**,” Spain said. “Because people in the community are going to be able to afford to bring their animals for a spay and neuter.”

Karen Walsh, the ASPCA Animal Relocation senior director, highlights the importance of this center for those who cannot afford animal care. The Animal Support Center will also offer low-cost veterinary services, including spaying and neutering, as well as transportation services for shelter animals. Funding for the animal transport program comes from PetSmart Charities.
