Help your animal shelter or rescue win cash grants just by voting in the Shelter Challenge. Go to the Animal Rescue Site to read how the Shelter Challenge works. This contest is offered in partnership with Petfinder.com and runs until December 20, 2009.

You can cast one vote per day for your favorite rescue or shelter. Get the word out to help earn this grant. Coordinate this effort with animal lovers, schools, churches, etc in your community. Work with animal-loving kids to spread the word. Notify everyone on your email list and ask local businesses to inform their readers. Ask your local newspaper to mention this opportunity. You can also take advantage of the “tell a friend” feature at the Shelter Challenge website to let your community know.

The weekly winners receive $1000. The grand prize is $20,000; second prize is $5,000; third prize is $3,000. There will also be 51 state grants of $1000.
