8 New Adoptable Pets at Riverdale Animal Shelter

Allegra, an adorable 5-month-old kitten

Allegra is a 5-month-old kitten who needs to be spayed and up to date on shots. Allegra gets along well with kids, other cats, and dogs. She’s a playful girl who likes to sleep in her owner’s lap or bring toys over for people to play with her.

Baby, a rabbit that is great for kids

Rabbits make great pets for kids of all ages. They are fairly clean and quiet, and they can even be litter trained. They live 10 to 12 years, making them a great long-term pet that kids can grow up with.

Bunny parents should know that the low maintenance reputation rabbits have is not quite accurate. Like many other pets, they require daily care, including playtime and cleaning out their cage at least once a week. However, if you brush him regularly, he will rarely need a bath (though you will be amazed by the amount of fur he sheds!).

Ralphie, a friendly 10-year-old cat

Ralphie’s a friendly 10-year-old tabby cat looking for a loving forever home. He’s declawed and has been around other cats, dogs, and kids his whole life so he’d adjust to any family dynamic. Ralphie loves cuddles and naps. He can be a little shy at first but after a few hours he warms right up!

Precious, a big loving dog that loves to cuddle

Precious is a Great Dane, who loves to cuddle. She was surrendered by her previous owners, and has been spending time with the shelter director in her foster home. Precious enjoys hanging out at the family’s farm, where she has a big yard to run around in and can play with their other dogs and cats. The director describes Precious as very smart, sweet, and friendly. She learned how to use a doggy door after 2 weeks of training! When she visits the shelter that is being constructed on the same property as her foster home, she sits outside and waits patiently for when it is time to go back home again.

Sassy, a sweet senior cat

Meet Sassy, a sweet senior cat

Sassy is a 10-year old domestic short hair cat. This sweet girl is looking for a family to love and fuss over her. She loves to be the center of attention, and will happily curl up in your lap if you give her the opportunity. Sassy is great with kids and dogs (but not cats) and is house broken. She’s been spayed so she won’t add to the population of stray cats, too! If you’re looking for another furry friend in your home, come meet Sassy at Riverdale Animal Shelter today!

Eggnog, an energetic puppy that is already house trained

Dog-lovers, meet Eggnog, a 9-month old puppy who is already house trained. Eggnog is a sweet dog who is looking for a new home, and he is excited to play with other dogs and people (although he might not be the best companion cat if they aren’t the playful type). If you have the time and energy to care for him, then this adorable little fellow will make a great addition to your family.

Bosley, a small lap dog who loves attention

Bosley is a great dog. He’s a mini poodle who makes the perfect lap dog. Bosley is friendly and enjoys nothing more than being loved by people. He loves to cuddle on your lap and get belly rubs! If you’re looking for a new friend at home, look no further: Bosley is the dog for you!

King Tut, a friendly 8-year-old cat looking for his forever home

King Tut is a friendly 8-year-old cat who is looking for his forever home. King Tut loves to play and cuddle, and he would be a wonderful addition to any family. King Tut has been at the shelter for several years, long after he was expected to be adopted. Come see King Tut today!
